2012 - The Year in Review - Verizon and Privacy

By December 31, 2012

Follow me on:

The sci-fi world of privacy just got a little weirder. Information was finally made public concerning Verizon and a patent the company applied for. No, seriously, my eyes bugged out of my face.

They want a television set-top box that can watch you while you watch it.

Crazy, right?

I'm not overly shocked that the Patent Office rejected the patent, but Verizon still has options to get this idea rolling. I suspect I'll be watching this one for a while.

Hmmm... I wonder if it will be watching me?

What a creepy idea! I think Reality TV might be playing a part in these kinds of ideas. And those websites where people are already doing this sort of thing. Glad this idea was shot down!
