Phishing Attacks Increase by 240%

Wednesday December 10, 2008

It looks like the downturn in the economy has hit phishers, too, making them even more active than before. According to an article on SpamFighter, phishing attacks have increase by 240% month-over-month. Ouch! That means that more than 80% of all emails sent are phishing emails. It's time to be ultra cautious when you're dealing with email.

The most frightening thing is that phishers are getting more and more sophisticated. There are times when you have to do nothing at all to be hit by a worm, virus, or spyware that can create havoc on your computer and in your personal life. Practice safe computing, and by all means, be safe out there in the "real world" as well.
