Only a few more days before Black Friday is upon us. That shopping frenzy is closely followed by Cyber Monday, the online equivalent of Black Friday. There are certainly deals to be had, but there are also serious identity theft risks. In fact, the period from October through January usually sees severely increased identity theft complaints, both online and in the real world.

One thing you can do to help prevent identity theft if you plan to take advantage of online shopping deals is to use a disposable credit card. These cards are put out by companies like Visa and American Express and can help reduce your risk of credit card fraud and identity theft.
