Social engineering is a term for the methods used by many identity thieves to gain access to your identity. Usually, it involves the criminal pretending to be someone they are not. And many people are taken in by social engineering, especially in the wake of disasters.

I was pointed to this ClipTraining video demonstration about social engineering on Friday. It contains excellent information about social engineering and how to protect yourself.
